I'd have the tiler cut it flush and plaster it. Of course, you can't do that with drywall, and the trimmer would have to come in twice.
I would go for the rounded version, it costs a little more, but it's worth it. The cutting edge of the tile cutter is very, very sharp and, depending on the tiles, can sometimes wear out a bit.
