In America, they don't use shingles like in Europe, but bitumen shingles. That's why I wondered why they don't use them in Europe?
They are cheaper and lighter, but they don't last as long (25-35 years). How long does a "classic" roof last? Also, bitumen shingles are supposed to be quieter when it rains.
I wonder if photovoltaic elements could be attached to them? Perhaps that would increase the longevity of the protection?
