Why should the rows be shifted when laying plywood on the floor?

Everywhere it is written that when laying plywood on the floor, each next row must be shifted from the previous one, for example, by 25 centimeters.

I can understand that when laying a layer of plywood on top of each other, it is more convenient to overlap the joints and better compensate for small unevenness of the joints. But why move the sheets when laying in one layer, and, for example, under the linoleum, I do not understand.

Why do the sheets need to be moved when laying?
