Should I use granite slabs for my patio? How difficult is it to maintain?

Until now, after we said goodbye to the wooden patio for various reasons, we mostly thought of concrete stones or porcelain stoneware slabs.

Now the question: how sensitive and demanding are granite slabs in outdoor areas in real life? I've already been told that they need to be impregnated every 1-2 years. But is that enough for a carefree life, or do you still have to avoid every grease stain or splash of red wine because you can never clean them up again? Do I have to clean them out like a maniac every 3 months because otherwise they will rot?
