I would make it even top/bottom. How much are you saving on each window? Depending on the color/surface, aluminum looks better.
As mentioned, aluminum roller shutters also delay burglary for a maximum of 10 seconds.
One more thing: aluminum shutters with a slightly shiny finish reflect sunlight better and are supposed to heat up less.
