How to protect new parquet flooring during construction?

How would you protect freshly laid parquet (in a new building) during the remainder of the construction and moving period? In principle, I find this paint masking fleece (i.e., "scraps of fabric" with foil underneath) to be pretty practical. But it's the foil that worries me a bit.

Key words: moisture, inability to diffuse, wood flooring.

Am I right to be concerned about this, or are these concerns more theoretical? How have you solved this problem in your case?
