What method and materials would you recommend to improve the soundproofing while replacing the old door?
The doorway at the front door is from the ceiling all the way to the floor.
At the moment on top of the door is cardboard, hollow. It rattles soundly. Not concrete, not foam block.
I want to tear down that part above, and put a door with high-quality padding on the upper opening. What method and materials would you recommend to improve the soundproofing?
I would just order a tall door, I think it makes the most sense and looks the best.
Brick on the rib + mineral wool + brick on the rib.
Each brick should have its own lintel made of channel block.
Make a force-fit lintel from gutter bars. Place any material on top of it. Bricks are heavier than aerated concrete, they let through less sound.
