What makes more noise when it rains: skylights with or without blinds?
We are due to start building our house at the end of October / beginning of November.
We are getting some Roto R8 roof windows, which according to the Roto homepage have the following specifications: "triple safety and thermal insulation insulating glazing with anti-dew coating and sound insulation (SSK 3)".
If we take shutters, then I would like to have them installed right away, so that the electrical connection can be made right away reasonably by switch. Alternatively, I would take a blackout rolo plus a sun screen outside.
Do you have experience of what a shutter on a skylight in noise brings or are the plastic slats even louder than when the rain directly hits the window?

We had removed the sun screen in the old apartment and installed shutters. Was definitely quieter after that.
I have lived with Velux windows without and with shutters and have very fond memories of the shutters. Also, as far as heat protection in the summer, absolutely the best you can do. (Disadvantage as always: it's dark).
