Our cold attic is only about 1.5m at its highest point, but I still insisted on having a hatch for the entrance. Everything that has now found its place (leftover shingles and roof panels, decor items, sleds, suitcases, baby cars).
Otherwise, I wouldn't know where to put them. So definitely don't give the space away.
