We recently installed gutters and found leaks in the joints. Is it an installation error or do they need to be sealed?

As far as I know, there should be rubber gaskets on the connections of the gutters. And when the system is poorly assembled then it does not fit tightly and can leak, or there are no rubber seals.

If the gutters are poorly assembled (poorly fastened) – you can do without dismantling, but in other cases should do the dismantling. And sealing is best done with roof sealant.
