How to store used raw decking boards in the winter?

I dismantled my decking from my patio without a roof. Now I'm wondering how to store them in the winter. I would like to install them elsewhere next summer. The boards are currently damp and wet because of the weather.

Should I store them stacked outside under a tarp? Should I store them stacked in the garage? I would like to avoid the boards getting moldy when stacking and storing them over the winter.

If the garage is well ventilated, you can store the floorboards there, otherwise it's probably better outside. The most important thing is not to lay the boards close together. When laying, always leave a 1-2 finger width space on the sides and insert spacers crosswise between each layer.
