As we expand our roof, we wonder if the natural cleaning effect of Velux's Thermoplus windows lives up to their promises. There are almost no opinions online. Has anyone had experience with this type of glass and can report?
I would be particularly interested in:
1. Does the cleaning effect work noticeably and over a longer period of time?
2. Will the coating stick or peel off?
3. I have heard that such glass does not let in all the sunlight and thus darkens the room? Is this correct?
Yes the cleansing effect is noticeable, for quite a long time, but it would be a mistake to assume that these windows should not be cleaned either.
In my experience the coating hasn't changed in several years, nothing has fallen off. It doesn't darken anything, it's not sunglasses.
Better than nothing, but it doesn't do wonders either.
