How to remove the protective film from siding?
A little strange question, but how to quickly and easily remove the film from siding? The problem is that it doesn't come off well, it tears and you can't get it off in the grooves at all.

Using a pressure washer is possible. I used this method to remove the protective film, which was glued over time and was forgotten to be removed in time.
I first gently used an industrial hair dryer to heat the 1 step, a distance of about 10-15 cm to the siding at an angle while trying it with my hand. Heated about 30 or 40 centimeters and slowly took it off.
Even the dried glue came off well. I took it off with the siding already in place. The main thing is not in a hurry, and then the glue stays wiped off with mineral spirits not very fast.
Hair dryer is not suitable, it has little power and it is not designed for prolonged work.
The whole point of heating is to make the glue plastic. If you bring the hair dryer close to the siding, the film will burn instantly. The same principle is used to remove tinting from car windows. But the film is much thicker there.
I involved my wife and children. The soffit didn't come off well. It came off the siding itself.
