I am going to renovate a 5 m2 bathroom and intend to install vinyl flooring.

Is there any way to not include a joint around the perimeter or cover it with silicone or something similar?

Will the vinyl flooring expand and by how much?  Is it necessary to include space in the joint for this?

For pvc or vinyl flooring, you don't need to leave any expansion, just a couple of millimeters and fill them with the same color mastic as the floor.

All floors need a minimum expansion joint, each vinyl flooring manufacturer has their own instructions and I would advise you to follow the instructions required by the manufacturer of the vinyl floor you are about to purchase or have already purchased. Both the perimeter expansion and the condition of the surface to be installed.
