It's possible (until we had vinyl) that the vinyl floor will leave marks on the furniture, such as the kitchen, etc. Which I guess isn't too bad, as long as the furniture stays in place. I once heard of clear sheets that distribute weight better. Does anyone have any product tips/experiences/recommendations for me?

There are always marks on the vinyl. With coasters, they will be less. But you won't be able to completely avoid them
