We are expecting a work crew soon to replace our heating system (on the 1st floor of our house). There is a spiral concrete staircase with granite steps leading up from the first floor.

Now I have some concerns about the workers and their shoes – fear of scratches, etc. How can I protect the stairs in a simple but fairly effective way? Is a simple painter's liner sufficient?

Quality painter's fleece (there is thin and thick material) should last a long time. This is a good protection.
