How long should I wait to apply mortar after it rains?

I was going to apply 1:4 cement-sand mortar to the slab for leveling, but it rained, and I don't know if I should wait for the slab to dry or if I can build the next day without a problem. My gut tells me I can, but I want to clarify.

After about 24 hours it should be fine, although a little moisture is always better.

That small amount of moisture is good for the mortar.

You can apply it, just remove the excess water.
